⸻ The land

The 'Green Caldera'

Things to do,
or not.

The land in the Scenic Rim offers you plenty.  We’ll hand you a map on arrival and the rest is optional, as it should be.

See all bookable experiences

Scenic Rim Experiences brings together seasonal dining, local produce, wine and relaxed ways to enjoy the region. Savour set menus shaped by Scenic Rim ingredients, estate-grown wines and French-English cooking, or have a pantry box waiting for your stay. For a more hands-on day, follow clues between local producers to gather the makings of a picnic and discover your final spot. You can also unwind with a massage delivered to your pod, surrounded by bushland and birdsong.

⸻ The transformation

You didn't come here to be busy. You came to remember how to be still.

Most weekends slip away before you've felt them. Errands on Saturday, that Sunday-night dread, and somehow the rest you actually needed never happened. Wander was built to break that pattern.

You may not do much while you're here, and that's the point. It's the kind of time you don't get to at home, because something's always interrupting.

No televisions and no schedule to keep. Just 1,200 acres overlooking a misty morning lake, a pod that settles into the landscape, and nothing much else you have to do.

— Cass & the Wander team

⸻ A few nights, roughly

How the time
actually passes.

An illustrative itinerary. Most Wanderers find their own rhythm within the first hour of arrival. The only fixed points are check-in and check-out.

01 · first day, 3:00pm

Arrival

Drive the last countryside curves. The pod is ready for you with a welcome note on the bench. A fire, local cheese and a bottle of something cold.

02 · FIRST NIGHT, dusk

The first bath

Fill the stone bath outside. The Scenic Rim horizon turns gold. Nothing is required of you and you feel your shoulders drop.

03 · DAY 2, Slow

A slow walk, then stillness

Off-lead for the dog. Off-grid for you. Slow coffee on the deck and the kind of conversation that doesn't compete with a screen.

04 · DAY 3, Late

Departure

Check-out is 11am. You will leave slower than you arrived. We find people always do.

⸻ Practicalities

The small print, made simple.

Everything you’d reasonably ask before booking. If we've missed anything, the Wander team are available on the phone or email and you'll speak to a human, not a chatbot.

The most asked questions

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, there’s Wi-Fi included at each pod. There are no televisions, by design, to help you disconnect by choice. Most Wanderers tell us the quiet was the best part about their stay.

Can we bring our dog?

Yes. Both Crumpet and Flintoff welcome dogs. One dog per pod and a second by arrangement. Essential puppy amenities are included: poop bags, wipes, and dog bowls. Please note the property is not fenced, and the land is shared with other wildlife. A $70 per dog cleaning fee applies so the next guest enjoys their stay as much as you did.

Is a WanderPod a cabin or tiny home?

Close but not quite. It’s a larger, more comfortable 58-72sqm architect-designed, off-grid cabin with a king bed, a wood fire and an outdoor bath, and nobody else in sight.

Where are these pods in the Scenic Rim?

Wander’s five pods sit on shores of Lake Wyaralong, and neighbour The Overflow Estate Cellar Door, around 15 minutes west of Beaudesert.

How far is it from Brisbane?

Ninety minutes by car from either Brisbane or Coolangatta airports. Coming from Brisbane is more direct, coming from Coolangatta is more scenic. Pick the route that you prefer if you need to fly first.

What does "Inclusive" mean?

A provisioned kitchen with local seasonal produce. Essentials is self-catered but still stocked with the basics such as local olive oil, salt and pepper. Select to add on the regional wine pack if you want to make your stay complete. See all inclusions here →

Can I book other experiences?

Yes.  You can book other experiences either at the time of booking your pod, or closer to your stay. See all experiences here →

Can I book now and pay later?

Yes. WanderPay lets you secure your stay now and pay in instalments before arrival. Select this payment option at checkout.

Cancellation?

Free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival. Full details confirmed in the Booking T&Cs here →
