Become a Citizen Scientist //

Find a new perspective and deeper understanding with the natural world.

Experience the magic that exists when you stop to look closely.

Meet Ro and Phil.

Roanna and Phil are loyal KI locals who have fallen deeply in love with the ocean and nature. They love showing people what magic exists when we stop to look closely at our planet. With years of experience as tour guides on Kangaroo Island and Tonga, they bring an expertise that is beyond expectations. They live a sustainable, quiet life giving back to the community, nursing injured wildlife and enjoying the world around them.
Kangaroo Island is Australia’s third-largest island, and one of immense biological significance. A plunge beneath Kangaroo Island’s crystalline waves reveals a bursting rainbow of life – lucky divers can spot animals like striped reef fish, radiant sea stars, enigmatic jellyfish, pods of 100 dolphins and several threatened and endangered species. However, not unlike many other marine ecosystems, it faces the threat of ever-growing human interference.

RADKI gives Wanderers a rare insight into the largely unexplored North Western coastline of Kangaroo Island. By being on board their customised 8 meter Zodiac rib RADIKAL, you will witness some of South Australia’s most vulnerable yet iconic marine and coastal species up close and personal.

These tours are for those passionate about the marine environment. You are offered a unique experience as a Marine Citizen Scientist where you will actively contribute to increasing knowledge, awareness and improving conservation efforts for this volatile marine and coastal environment. It’s time to enjoy the wild world of Australia’s temperate Great Southern Reef.

Highlights.

    • See some of the most breathtaking coastlines you will ever encounter. With towering cliffs pushed and formed into gigantic formations over 550 million years ago, caves, stunning beaches and bays and just a kaleidoscope of consternating colours of the land, sea and sky.
    • No two trips are ever the same. Get close and personal with dolphins, the endangered Australian sealion, long-nosed fur seals, a variety of raptors including the white bellied sea eagle, the wedge tailed eagle and the nankeen kestrel.
    • Help collect important data to continue to protect these amazing species for generations to come.
