Meet Jacques and Yale.

Founder and winemaker Jacques Lurton is a 5th generation winemaker from Bordeaux’s oldest family wine dynasty, dating back to 1650.  One of the world’s best known ‘flying winemakers’ Jacques learned his craft in Bordeaux before branching out to establish wineries across Europe and South America.  However, it was Kangaroo Island that captivated Jacques, and he established The Islander Estate Vineyards in 2000. 

Together with his partner Yale, they have focused on handcrafting elegant cool-climate wines that showcase ‘underdog’ varietals like Cabernet Franc & Semillon.

Surrounded by gum trees and rural surrounds on Kangaroo Island Islander Estate Vineyards is the perfect destination to enjoy both the manifestation and bearer of spirit to the soul – the liquid quintessence of concentrated sunbeams – wine.
