Meet Jo.
Jo Davies, our local Scenic Rim yogi hero, recognises how challenging it is for people to prioritise time for the things that give their life true purpose and meaning, given all the distractions, over-use of technology and the excessive busyness and over-stimulation that characterise western culture.
Travel and adventures in unfamiliar environments can give people an opportunity to come ‘home’ to themselves. Yoga, meditation and massage encourage us to make time and space to pause, to notice, to listen, to breathe and to celebrate being present to the wonder of being alive.
Jo has lived and raised a family in the Scenic Rim for almost 20 years. She shares with her husband Rob a simple, full and rich lifestyle based on their passion for sustainable living and Jo’s particular interests in composting and soil health.
Together Rob and Jo grow an abundance of backyard vegetables, purchase local and bulk foods without plastic packaging, travel by e-bikes whenever possible, enjoy a plant-based diet and live in a fully solar-powered home.
Jo values her active membership of the local community where she generously shares her exploration of ways to live well while stepping ever more lightly on the earth. She has taught composting in schools and at festivals and is also an accomplished singing performer and vocal coach. Jo enjoys much of her free time hiking in the Scenic Rim’s mountainous bushland and canoeing on its beautiful dams and waterways.

What.
As a guest of Wander, Jo will tailor your session into a unique experience based on your choice of:
- Zen Thai Shiatsu Massage
- Yoga Session (for up to 4 people)
- Guided Meditation (for up to 4 people)
A yoga sequence with Jo includes a nourishing combination of ‘Restorative’, ‘Yin’ and ‘Slow Flow’ yoga, designed to relax the body, reduce stiffness and discomfort and bring quiet stability to the mind. In a safe and supported space, Jo’s teaching encourages your body into freedom and ease.
A meditation session with Jo’s soothing voice to guide you into a deeply restful state, follows the ancient tradition of Yoga Nidra which has been adapted to suit modern life with iRest Integrative Restoration techniques. This type of meditation can help reduce anxiety and stress by enabling you to recognise the unshakable peace and wellbeing that is within you no matter how challenging your life situation may be.
Zen Thai Shiatsu massage has been described as the “lazy person’s yoga”, which is all the more humorous for being accurate! Under Jo’s skilful hands, you will be coaxed into a deep state of relaxation and eased through gentle fascial stretching and mobilisation. Zen Thai Shiatsu massage is a practice that is applied through your clothing and Jo finds this type of bodywork is both a joy to give and receive bringing about a feeling of deep rejuvenation.
Where.
- Enjoy the experience on your private WanderPod deck or on a natural ground location nearby.
- WanderPods have timber decks and can fit up to 4 people comfortably.
- Unfortunately, indoor practices in the living area are not an option and we ask you to please not move the furniture around.
- Please enquire for groups of more than 4 people and we will try to accommodate.
When.
Jo is available on Wednesdays and Saturdays – subject to availability.
Times.
Jo offers minimum 2-hour appointments and will be able to confirm the time with you after booking.
Please confirm with Jo what you are after. For example, the booking can be used for 2 people for an hour massage each.
Price.
$330 per booking
Price is for a minimum 2 hours.
How to book.
You will be able to add yoga, meditation or massage to your WanderPod booking. Appointments with Jo are very popular and may not be available on the date of your stay so please get in touch with our concierge if your desired date is unavailable and you want to select yoga, meditation or massage as part of your stay.
Bookings are required with at least 10 days notice, to assist Jo with planning. Jo will call you prior to your session to discuss any details, concerns or requests.
What to bring.
Please wear breathable activewear and bring drinking water and a towel. A yoga mat will be provided for you.
