THE OVERFLOW 1895

Only one and a half hours south of Brisbane,
The Overflow 1895 showcases unsurpassed
rural beauty in Queensland’s Scenic Rim.
A new world winery and a handcrafted homestead built in 1899,  set on the calming shores of the Wyaralong Dam.

Some 1200 acres have been placed under eucalypt forest cultivation with several walks and coves to explore, or just to sit, watch, listen and breathe.

1 Bedroom WanderPod

Nestled in private bushland with views over Lake Wyaralong and Mt Joyce, the ancient landscape surrounds you. The sound of the breeze rushing through the trees falls silent and the sun bathes the mountain in a warm glow before finding its resting place behind the Western ridge of the Scenic Rim. Follow the twisting path down to the waters edge and wait for the fish to break the surface.

Sink into a freestanding outdoor bath and watch the darkness reveal the stars one by one. WanderPods are designed with simplicity and comfort in mind, with a King size bed and luxury eco-linen. Fully equipped with a kitchenette, large living-dining space and bathroom with flush toilet and walk-in shower.

Look up.

Celestial storytelling and navigation.

For thousands of years the people of these lands have been looking up to this same night sky.

Look up and listen to the stories they tell about the past. Learn to find your place in the world with celestial navigation.

Brew a cup of Jilungin tea, turn off the lights and walk to a wide open space.
Scan a QR code to listen to the dreamtime story of the creation of the Southern Cross while gazing upward. Take the stargazing pocket guide with you and learn to determine North using this hallmark Australian constellation.

Dadirri.

Be Still and listen.

Inner, deep listening and quiet, still awareness.

“Dadirri recognises the deep spring that is inside us. We call on it and it calls to us. This is the gift that Australia is thirsting for. It is something like what you call “contemplation.” – Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr

Walk into the gully, find some Lomandra and scan a QR code to learn the ancient practice of weaving Lomandra into string.
Sit barefoot on the ground. Breathe deeply and tune in with yourself and the landscape around you. Observe, listen, soak.

Walkabout.

Discover Mununjali country on foot.

With over 15 km of signposted and/or self-guided paths covering a variety of routes within the property, you can explore 4000 acres of beautiful bush, waterways and farmland.

We offer different levels of difficulty to get you moving or just to immerse yourself in nature. Our trails offer you world of eucalypt forests, grasslands, waterfalls, viewpoints, revegetation areas, bird-watching and wildlife.

From the traditional uses for a termite mound to the lifestyle of the Goanna that just ran up that tree in front of you, scan a QR code on your map to interpret the landscape you find yourself in.

Look inside.

Reflection, self authoring and understanding.

Asking good questions is the beginning of self discovery and understanding others. See yourself and others differently, build empathy, heal wounds and uncover treasure.

Guided writing exercises that collectively help you explore your past, present and future. Thinking about where you came from, who you are and where you are going helps you chart a simpler, healthier and more rewarding path through life.

Learn more about yourself, your partner and your inner circle with these prompting question decks.

The book shelf.

A timeless way to explore the world.

A book is a portrait, it builds layers of thought and allows you to go deep. To stand on the shoulders of humanity past, we need to understand how they see the world.

A selection of books and artifacts on the shelf connects us to a rich cultural heritage.

Build a fire, brew a cup of coffee and settle in for a few hours with a good book. Listen the rain fall, the fire crack and the writer’s voice in silent conversation.
