Green Mountains.
Lamington National Park: Green Mountains.
This park is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, famed for its ongoing geological processes, evolutionary history and diversity.
1. Centenary Track
Highlights
- Entry level walk as an introduction to the Lamington National Park
- Vibrant native bird life
Step back in time along this historically significant track that winds through an aromatic forest. Slowly ascend through towering hoop pines and subtropical rainforest. This track is often scattered with the bright-red fruit of the southern satin ash and yellow citrus-smelling lemon aspen fruit.
Take a seat and watch the forest come alive with birds darting through the branches, foraging on fallen tree trunks and scratching in the leaf litter.
The first 700m of the track are accessible for wheelchairs with assistance. There are wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities available at the Green Mountains day-use area.

2. Rainforest Return
Highlights
- Ancient Gondwana rainforest
- A relaxing walk to immerse yourself in nature
Take a trip back in time as you walk through 23 million years’ worth of Lamington’s geological history. Run your hand along boulders that flank the trail and connect with this ancient Gondwana rainforest. Walk slowly and notice the Yellow-throated scrubwrens, Albert’s lyrebirds and Australian longrunners rummaging among the leaf litter.
The first 700m of the track are accessible for wheelchairs with assistance. There are wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities available at the Green Mountains day-use area.

3. Python Rock Circuit
Highlights
- Breath-taking views of Morans Falls, Castle Crag and Mount Razorback
- Journey through varied landscape
Curved buttress roots rise from the ground and booyong and fig trees tower overhead. As you walk, the lush rainforest transitions into an open eucalypt forest where fire-adapted species such as grass trees, hakeas and various wildflowers grow. The views from Python Rock lookout will take your breath way.
If you’re travelling on a wet day, listen out for the guttural ‘sqeak’ of the rare and endangered Masked Mountain Frog.

4. Morans Falls Circuit
Highlights
- Spectacular views of an 80m waterfall
- Family friendly walk
Wander through lush subtropical rainforest featuring booyongs, figs, brush box, twisted vines and bird’s nest ferns to views over spectacular Morans Falls and Morans Creek Gorge. Morans Falls is a gentle trickle in the drier months and a thunderous roar after rain. Follow the track over a crystal-clear creek to Morans Clearing lookout and take in sweeping vistas over the Albert River valley towards Mount Lindsey and Mount Barney.

5. Christmas Creek
Highlights
- Swimming holes fringed by rainforest
- Starting point for the challenging hike to Larapinta Falls, the Stinson plane crash site and Point Lookout
Walk beside a pristine stream with small waterfalls and beautiful pools suitable for swimming.
Limited parking has been created before the end of the road on the right hand side of
the dirt track, but don’t drive to the end of the road as this area is private property.

A. Tommerups Dairy Farm
Highlights

Tommerup’s Dairy Farm and Farm Stay is an authentic 6th generation working dairy farm. Their farm gates are open on selected days to soak up the country atmosphere and get to know your local farmer.
The Farm Larder is stocked with pork, veal and lamb, artisan dairy products and free range eggs. The Hut Cafe is laden with freshly baked farmhouse cakes and rich Jersey Girl ice creams.

B. Tullamore Farm
Highlights
- Certified organic farm with 6 vegetable gardens and around 500 fruit trees and vines
- Farm tours and workshops
Tullamore Farm is a 306 acre property in the beautiful Kerry Valley, an inspiring 15 minute drive from Beaudesert. Most of the land has been left as a nature sanctuary, filled with wildlife and 15 acres have been dedicated to Bill and Carol O’Sullivan’s journey to self-sufficiency. This is a wonderful place to be inspired to live in harmony with the land and its natural systems..
Tullamore offer a range of workshops to educate and support sustainable production and self-sufficency including a farm tour, vegetable and banana growing, composting, and bringing native bees to your garden.

C. Rathlogan Olive Grove & Shed Cafe
Highlights
- Homemade light meals and coffee
- Stock your pantry with premium locally made olive produce
Nestled in the foothills of Mount Maroon, the Rathlogan Olive Grove was planted in 2002 and now has 1200 fully matured olive trees. The olives are picked by hand, processed on site and placed in brine vats within hours of picking. The Shed Cafe is known for good food, welcoming staff and a realxed haunt for locals and hikers.
Open every weekend between nine and four, the Shed Cafe serves great coffee, homemade breakfasts and lunches, and a cakes. Inside, you’ll also find an eclectic range of homewares and treasures for sale, as well as their own olives, olive oils, dukkah and tapenade.
